Star Canadian Open 2007 - Information
About the Competition
Canadian Cubing is pleased to present the 2007 Canadian Open. The competition will take place on Victoria Day Weekend, Saturday May 19th, 2007 at the Ontario Science Centre. The competition will start at 9:30 am, with a short break for lunch. There will also be an after party held at the Ontario Science Centre's Bistro, with food and beverages for all who register, and two guests. So please register before the competition so we have an idea of how many people to expect in order to plan enough food and drinks for everyone.
The competition is located inside the exhibits area in the Imperial Oil Auditorium. This is the same auditorium where the World Championships were held in 2003. There will be plenty of signs available competition day, to direct you exactly where to go.
Costs
The registration fee for all competitors is $10, payable upon check-in on the day of the competition. Also included in the registration fee is the admission cost for two guests per competitor, to enter the exhibits area for free. Parking at the venue is $4 for the day if you tell the attendant at the booth you are there for the competition.
Accommodations
The closest hotel to the venue is the Crowne Plaza Don Mills. It is about a 5-minute drive from the hotel to the Science Centre. However, the Science Centre has a page with all hotels in the area and their contact information. You can view the page here.
Gift Packs
As a way to say thank you for coming to the competition, the first 40 competitors that register on this site before the competition will receive a gift package. You must register before the competition as well as check-in the morning of the competition to be eligible for the gift pack. This stipulation is in place to ensure we spend the money on gift packs wisely.
Update: All 40 section gift packs have been assigned. However, should one of the first 40 registered compeititors not check-in, the available pack will be given to the next available registered competitor.
