Canada's official speedcubing organization

About the Competition

canadianCUBING is pleased to announce the Pickering 2017 speedcubing competition. The competition will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Pickering Town Centre, which is located at 1355 Kingston Road, Pickering, ON L1V 1B8.

The competition will happen in Centre Court, which is right beside the food court.

Due to space and time constraints, the competition is limited to the first 150 paid competitors. Ensure you follow the instructions in the email you receive after registering to complete the process and secure your spot.

This is an official WCA event, and as such all official regulations will be followed. Please take some time to read them over before the day of the competition, especially if you have never competed before.

Click here to access the registration form. Registration for the competition will close on Monday, October 09, 2017. So be sure to register online to take advantage of the early bird pricing. See the Cost section for details.

The cost to competitors that register online before the close date will be our standard pricing model. You will pay $15.00 to compete in one event. Each additional event will cost $2.00 to a maximum of $25.00.

This competition is limited to 150 confirmed competitors. To confirm your registration, simply follow the information in the email you receive after registering to pay the fee.

We will not be accepting walk-in registrations the morning of the event.

Important Notes:

  • All sales are final. Should you pay online and find you cannot attend later, we will not issue a refund. This policy is to prevent "squatting", where someone reserves a limited spot without the full intention of attending.
  • If you decide to drop an event, you will not be reimbursed the fee for the event.
  • You cannot add events the morning of the competition. Your registration fee is final once you pay.
  • We will not be accepting walk-on registrations the morning of the competition. You must register online in order to participate.

Cost for spectators at the competition is free of charge.

The following is a list of the events currently offered at the competition.

  • 3x3x3
  • 2x2x2

There is a food court in the mall with plenty of options available.

As the mall has many merchants on site, there will not be any merchandise sold directly through the competition to avoid conflict with any store in the mall.

We are always looking for dedicated people to donate their time and efforts to these competitions. We need scramblers and judges for every round of every event. It is a great opportunity for parents, siblings, friends, or anyone that wants to come and be involved but does not want to compete yet. We will provide training the morning of the competition for those wishing to help out. It is not difficult, so don't be afraid!

For anyone that volunteers and helps out for an entire competition, we will act as a reference if you wish to put this on your resume or college application. We will also sign any high school volunteer hour sheets provided you work the entire competition. But you must arrange this with us before the competition. Contact us here if you plan to help out.
